Take off from Wanaka Airport and head west and north over the Southern Alps. Your Kiwi Encounter Bois Gentil is a crèche, a pest-proof environment that provides the ultimate safety for these adolescent Kiwi birds to grow strong, healthy and instinctively. Mt Aspiring (Tititea) New Zealands third highest mountain outside of the Mt Cook group at a height of 3033mtrs. See ancient glaciers, this astounding mountain is the pinnacle of many mountaineers’ careers and was training ground to Sir Edmund Hilary. The Maori name means ‘Glistening Peak’ and from your seat, it’s easy to see why. Flying around this magnificent mountain your Instructor will tell you a story or two of his ventures into this amazing landscape.

Whether you have a few hours or a few days, we welcome all visiting pilots. NZ Flying Adventures is able to offer flights to suit your needs and skill level in our 180hp Cessna 172. Under the guidance of your Instructor you are able experience some of the best mountain flying in the world while having the opportunity to learn some of the basics of flying in our unique, mountainous terrain.
Options include a flight to Milford Sound or enjoy the spectacular glaciers around the Mt Aspiring and Mt Cook National Parks, or even a flight further south to Doubtful Sound and Stewart Island.

DH82a Tigermoth
Experience the thrill and excitement of early Aviators and take to the skies in a 1938 vintage de Havilland Tigermoth. This aircraft has a wonderful history and was used to train Pilots during WWII. Your Instructor Peter has over 2,500 hours in the tigermoth and will brief you on the history of the aircraft, how to hand start her along with the basics of flying this open cockpit biplane.
